Bontang Art and Craft Center is a facility that can accommodate artists, artisans, and the community to contribute and be creative in order to maintain and preserve the cultural values of Bontang.
The theme for this facility is “Bontang’s Art and Craft Through Time” because of the developments of arts and crafts in Bontang until the present. The process that experienced in these developments is an important thing that needs to be delivered to the public in order to raise awareness of local culture. The 'process' is delivered with a transition. Therefore, the transition from traditional values will be brought into the modern concept and will be represented by dynamic forms so that it can create a flow with a smooth transition. Furthermore, the used material using a variety of materials that show the impression of ethnic toward modern.
